“Can this be hooked up to a tablet via USB? I have a Microsoft Surface pro and do power point presentations. Anyway this could work? I don't have an HDMI port on it, but I have a USB and saw the USB cable port on the back on this machine.”

The projector has a USB-A and USB-B port so yes you can hook up.
