This would not be a good scanner for that as this is a feed scanner. You would have to cut out all the pages. A flat bed would be better, like the Epson V600.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This scanner copies one page (one or two sides) at a time. If you're willing to separate the pages from the binding, it will scan fairly quickly. I'd suggest scanning groups of 50 or 60 pages, then using your Acrobat software, combine the pdf's into one document.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can't scan a bound book on a sheet fed scanner. It's even a chore on a flatbed. I suppose you could remove the binding and feed it through but you would destroy the book of course.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Epson ES-500W is a page scanner. It will not work for scanning a textbook...unless you're willing to tear out all the pages. What you would need would be a flat-bed scanner. However, scanning that many pages from a book will take forever.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is money vs time . It is slower than the Fujitsu comparable scanner so you will spend some extra time if u buy this but you will save some money as well. So I would say, if money is more important go with this one and if the time is more important than go with the Fujitsu
