No there is no monthly fee to use the scanner. This was the primary reason I selected this model. I also like that you can save your scans to Google Drive.

There is no monthly fee to use the printer. The software is downloaded right to your PC and includes updates. The only applications you would pay a monthly fee for would be applications like QuickBooks or Quicken.

No. This was my MAIN reason for buying this unit. I purchased a "NEAT" scanner a few years ago, then suddenly they started charging a yearly fee to use the unit. It's a good unit but I don't want to pay a yearly fee to use it. This unit works great and is very fast and more features than I thought.
