“When I power up my printer, they cycle appears to complete, but the LCD neither moves on from the Epson logo nor displays any error message. I cannot find a factory reset switch to try to circumvent the error.”

Try unplugging it for a minute and then plugging it back in. Sometimes I still need to power it down and back up after unplugging it one more time. But unplugging it seems to be the "reset" feature.
