The printer should connect to the laptop, if there is any troubles with the computer not allowing it to connect, then you may try to plug a usb cable into it for a hard wired connecting from the computer to the printer and it should work just fine at that point.

You have the choice of either a direct USB connection (highly recommended) or a wireless connection with bluetooth (this should work fine as long as your computer is not too far from your router.). You will need to download the latest printer driver software from Epson since this unit does not come with that software on a disc.
