“Does this camera system require an internet connection? I have an off-grid house with wifi but no internet so am not able to use the Arlo cameras. Those require an internet connection as the only way to access the video is through the internet portal.”

not sure about whether it will connect to base station without internet or not, but for sure you need the internet to view videos on base station as you can only view them via the mobile app.
