The cameras seem pretty good at capturing what light they have access to in order to charge.

While the built-in solar panel is designed to keep your camera charged with as little as 1-2 hours of direct sunlight per day, its efficiency will be affected if placed in shaded areas, such as under a front porch. The camera will still work, but placing it in such a location might limit the solar charging effectiveness, and the battery will eventually need to be recharged manually if it doesn't receive enough sunlight. For the best results, refer to the installation guidelines provided in the eufy Security app and aim to position the camera in a location where it can receive direct sunlight for at least part of the day.
