• You can buy a homebase by itself, but it is cheaper to buy a homebase with a kit that would come with two cameras, or a camera and a doorbell camera

• Yes. This camera will not work without a home base. Note: only the Homebase 2 supports HomeKit- the Homebase 3 does not, although Eufy says HomeKit support is coming.
