I believe as long as you have WiFi to the camera will work
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have setup the way you are planning to. I have small single family home setup and experienced no issues when placing the base station at the center of my home connecting to main router via ethernet. Doorbell - 12-15 Meters away; Cameras also in similar distance in upper levels. It might also depend on your router Mesh setup and if it has additional satellites.

Keep in mind the homebase provides the connection to your camera so, its location, relative to your cameras, is critical for maximum coverage. Part of the process of setting up a new camera is to check the signal strength at the location you want to mount the camera. So, you have a couple of options. 1. Leave the homebase where it is currently and check signal strength. If the camera works at that location your done (except for mounting it :) ). 2. If the camera doesn't work then you need to move the homebase closer. Since you only have one homebase I recommend moving it to a centralized spot in your home with the minimum number of walls, ceilings, doors, etc. between the homebase and your cameras. Just make sure your doorbell camera works after you move it. Now check the signal strength of your new camera. If it's good, mount the camera! 3. If the new camera still doesn't work your next option is return it or to get another homebase and locate it near the new camera. Unfortunately, Eufy doesn't currently sell the homebase by itself, but I was told it will be available in the near future (maybe 3 months). If that is true you can wait and buy a homebase when it's available or buy a camera that includes a homebase now. My home needs two homebases to support my front and backyard cameras. This gives me complete coverage inside and outside my home.

The camera is 70 feet from the HomeBase and the signal travels through 2 interior walls and 1 exterior wall; the signal works fine; we have had no issues with the add-on camera. We have the wireless doorbell unit and another camera over 40 feet from the HomeBase with no issues. When we originally installed the HomeBase, we opted to hook it up directly to our router instead of using the wireless option. I can't say for sure, but that may increase the quality of the signal between the HomeBase and the cameras and the doorbell unit which are all wireless.
