The home base looks like a Wi-Fi router but it’s by Eufy. I haven’t seen them sold by themselves, usually they come together with a product. The eufy doorbell has 2 options, one with the home base and one without the home base. If you don’t have a home base you get the doorbell that comes with the home base and if you have a home base from a different product you get the doorbell without the home base. I hope this help!

It's kinda like what syncs all of the eufy devices and that's where the video recordings are saved to. So I guess you can say it's pretty important to have the homebase.
