It does get loud when under full load( stock blower style cooler). As for 4k, im unsure, however at 1440p ultra @144hz iv never seen my card go above 70c overclocked to 2050mhz. I plan on buying an after market hybrid kit to have lower temps, less noise, and a more stable overclock.

Also, wait for board partner variants of the 1080ti to be released and buy those over the founders edition style with the blower fan - especially if your concerns are heat and noise. If you're dead set on buying THIS card now then I'd suggest setting a custom fan curve with EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner to allow the fan to ramp up to 80% vs the stock max cap of 50%. At 80% it's very audible but not too disruptive. It's like a low hum that can easily be drowned out by your game audio. At 50% the fan is barley audible. Out of box temps will ramp up to 80c+ with the stock fan profile at 50%. With a custom curve allowing for up to 80% it'll max out at around 75c but usually stays around 70c for me. Again, buy the board partner variants once they're released. Better cooling will allow for overall better performance and they'll be quieter as well.

Please try again later.A better option is to water cool it Buy a founders edition and go to ek waterblocks And install them very easy to do plenty of videos on YouTube showing you how to . Build a custom loop My 1080ti's idle at 29c under load 40c more or less And it's quiet . Even better cooling than the after market cards
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The card is not loud to me, but I use headphones. I'm not sure about 4K but overclocked to 120% power 144hz 1080p gaming it never gets above 84c. absolute highest I saw was 94c when I accidentally locked the fan to 25%. don't get the 1080 just for the hybrid cooler. https://www.ekwb.com/ their titan x water block fits the 1080Ti.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any time the fan goes over 70% it's pretty loud. At 4k my card gets to around 85c but as long as it stays under 90 there is nothing to worry about. Even with the loudness of the card it's still absolutely worth having. It's not so loud that it's distracting to me.
