A:AnswerIt will play pretty much anything up to HD resolution. I have tested it on a number of recent games with no issues with one exception(see my review on this card). This is not the card to get if you want to play at 4K resolutions or if you are using a VR solution. For those you need its big brother the 480 or Nvidia equivalent.
A:AnswerMine did not come with a backplate and I purchased it from the store in a new unopened box. I checked on online and see no mention of this version having a backplate.
A:AnswerI can only speak for the "FTW" (For The Win) model of this 960 because that's the one I bought! It DOES have the backplate! However, there are several models of this card! I can't name them offhand, and the other models might not have it. So if you want/need the backplane I can only tell you to insist on the "FTW" model.
