“I purchased this and cant figure out how to redeem the code for Gears of War....there is no "coupon code"...I read it comes in my email..what email? This makes no sense to me. Shouldn't the code be on the receipt?”

You should have received an email from Best Buy with a cd activation code right after you purchased the card. Look on your junk mail or contact Best Buy and they should be able to send you a code.
