    Can it Run Crysis?

When I heard that the 10 series cards had arrived I had to get my hands on one since I wanted to replace my GTX 970 in order to keep up with games at 1080p and 1440p for max settings with at least 60 FPS. I had originally bought the Founders Card and while it is a great card, I couldn't squeeze as much performance out of it as I would like due to high heat output by the blower style cooler and having to increase power to the fan which took away from my overclocking headroom. Since I bought this EVGA model I have been fairly satisfied with it. The card runs a lot cooler and quieter since it has an open air design. Due to this I am able to have the fans run at a lower RPM thus reducing overall noise and power consumption. Out of the box this card has the fans set to not spin until about 60 C, which is more than safe for this card. However I was able to apply a custom fan curve using MSI Afterburner to increase fan speeds, core clock, mem clock, temp limits, and voltage targets. On the Founder's Card I was able to run the core at 1988 MHz and memory at 4500 MHz (9000 effective) at 75-85 C with a very aggressive fan curve. On this EVGA SC model the card runs at 2050-2088 MHz on the core and 4700 MHz (9400 MHz effective) at roughly 66 C. All of that means I was able to push this card farther at lower temps thanks to the design of the cooler just being changed. The only downfall of this card is that it uses the same PCB of the Founders Edition card so there are no extra VRM and Mosfets to help increase power the memory and GPU die so I am at the limit of this card electrically. If you want to push this card harder I would recommend the ASUS Strix, MSI Gaming X, EVGA FTW models, and Zotac Amp cards. In games I am able to max out all settings at 1080p and 1440p with 60 FPS or higher. Battlefield 4: 144 FPS avg 1080p ultra preset Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: 83 FPS avg 1080p ultra preset Hairworks On Overwatch: 165 FPS avg 1080p Fancy preset Crysis 3: 54 FPS avg 1080p ultra preset 8x msaa Overall this is a good card for high refresh rate gaming for things like CS:GO, it's actually overkill for that, or higher resolution gaming. This card is beautiful. Has a nice backplate, white LED lights that can turned off or on and no coil whine. I paired it with a 1080p 144hz monitor and currently get 90-144+fps on all new AAA titles at 1080p with ultra settings. I am also able to connect it via HDMI to my Samsung 65 inch 4K tv where I can get 30 fps playing games in 4K with most settings on low-medium with AA turned off. This card can achieve 4K at 30 fps, 1440p at 60 fps or 1080p at 120+ fps. It's quiet, stays under 70c at full load and plays everything you throw at it. If you want 120+ frames at 1080p or 60 frames at 1440p with almost all settings on ultra than pick this version up.

Although I am just a casual gamer a couple new titles I was interested in came out this past year and my old 7790 just couldn't get the job done anymore, even at low settings. This 1070 provides outstanding performance with smooth game play at the highest settings for my games. I had no issues with the installation and the card runs quiet with no coil whine and the fans can only be heard when running stress tests for an extended period, silent during gaming. I am very happy with the results of this upgrade.

Pros: -Easy installation -Moderate to low power consumption even during stress tests -easy multi monitor support -8GB of vram is a huge boost compared to previous generations of video cards -Lack of buyers remorse Cons: -Only one hdmi out , but was easily remedied with the use of the display port. Other Thoughts: Would definitely recommend this product to my friends. I used this in an older build to replace a failed PNY GTX 670, it was a great boost over that older card. Overall one of the better companies that strive for greatness with their video cards I will be shopping with them in the future as well. Keep making great products and I will keep buying them. Thank you so much for this great video card, compared to my GTX 670 I am feeling really pleased with the capabilities of this card.

I bought it to use as an external graphics excelerator on a i7 Nuc. Frame rate in World of Tanks is 110-115 at the highest settings in HD. Installation is easy and straightforward. I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing but you're going to have alot of downloads from Nvidia.

EVGA makes some of the best NVIDIA video cards around. This one is no exception, excellent results in all current games thrown at it. Provides stable VR and G-SYNC gaming. Recommend to all, as long as you know this particular model may require a BIOS update - www.evga.com/thermalmod/ or a thermal modification; free from the manufacturer if you are having overheating issues. 08G-P4-6173-KR/KB (KB model is the Best Buy version).

Really good upgrade from a radeon 7970 ghz. Card is silent when on desktop (it turns off the fans automatically) and then its super silent when in gaming (compared to my 7970 that was a leaf blower). It never goes higher than 72 C even when overclocked. Right out of the box it boosts to 2.0 ghz by itself at moments (nvidias boost 3.0 at work) and I was able to overclock to 100 mhz core offset and 400 mhz mem offset without a sweat (stock volts). Card is great at 1080p and 1440p. 4K is around 30 fps - 40 fps. I guess for 4k you need another one on SLI, or a gtx 1080. I'm thinking of using evga's step up program and getting a 1080 when its on stock. I just wish best buy would keep up with their inventory system for stores. It said it was out of stock on all the stores nearby and I go to my store planning on getting a gtx 970 and there it was, one evga 1070 and no mention on the website it was in stock at that store. Sigh.

Sleek Very Well Designed GFX Card

I recently purchased this card from my local Best Buy, and man coming up from just a GTX 970 made an outstanding difference. I had also bought the EVGA FTW 1070 which does have a big overclocking ability much more than this card just for around a $20 difference price matching. But for me did not fit my Corsair Airflow 240 Case which the card is only bigger than the other lower versions by its RGB lighting and 10CM Fans. I recommend the EVGA SC 1070 if your not willing to fork out the extra for RGB and better cooling and size. But will also recommend the EVGA FTW 1070 highly if you have a mid to high tower I loved my switch to a compact power house. Things to Note *As in the Picture you can clearly see how the cards White LED tends to be a little blue tinted when compared to the Corsair Logo and Fan LEDs

This is a great video card! For a superclocked card it runs really well and stays cool. This card imho represents the biggest bang for your buck! I have a 42 inch 4k tv I use as my monitor, and I run all games at 2K ultra @60fps with no sweat at all (of course with an actual computer monitor with a much higher refresh rate, I'd get even faster fps). I'm going to wait for the next year cards to go 4k ultra. If you're looking to go ultra at 2k, this is your card. It's overkill for 1080p ultra imho, but I don't think anyone will buy this card for 1080p ultra. This is a 2k card through and through! It will most certainly run games at 4k medium/low as well (that's the recommended NVIDIA optimized default settings for all the games I have installed: GTA V, Fallout 4, Just Cause 3 and others). Some of the older games like Guild Wars 2 I can run at 4k Ultra with no sweat. I kind of want to test my current games at 4k high, but honestly 2k ultra looks really really good, so I'm satisfied. Best card for the money right now.

I replaced a burnt 980ti with this card and it does very well with my build. It runs much cooler! I've never seen it higher that 66c with stock fan curves. I don't even need to turn up case fans like I used to. It's made my rig so much quieter. Also it runs 1990mhz on average so I don't know if I got Lucky but it's faster than advertised with no additional OC beyond factory.

After two weeks of use, I am very impressed with this card. I am currently running a 1080p monitor, but plan to upgrade to a 1440 by the end of the year; I have no doubt this card can handle it flawlessly. Only negatives are the lack of RGB lighting, for those who care about color schemes, (like me!) and the fact that the EVGA software is a joke and impossible to use. Download MSI Afterburner and forget the included software. Performance is why I bought this card, and at the end of the day, it delivers.

Great graphics card. I originally got 1 when I wanted to upgrade from my gtx760. Made a huge difference in graphics. Loved it so much I went out and bought another one to really take advantage of the cards full potential. Card was bigger so make sure your case has the room for it!

This GPU has handled anything and everything that I have thrown at it. I play Oculus Rift games with SuperSampling and it never even hiccups. One thing that I really like about it is that the fans do not spin if the temp is low enough.

Had this card for about a year and half, still working, no RMAs as of now. Card still plays really well on 1080p resolutions on most games, even at 4k res, still kicks other GPU brands butt! I should have bought many of this card due to crypto mining, i couldn't get another one due to of course "crypto-mining", card prices skyrocketed and now it is with optimal MSRP. So if you are planning on getting a decent 4k gaming GPU for starters, i would recommend starting with this one, if it's not enough, go with 1080 or Ti.

This card has great build quality and looks very nice. The white LEDs look subtle and match any color combination your build might have, it looks great in my Fractal Design R5 window case. I only have a 1080p monitor, so I can run all games I have thrown at it maxed out and it has no problems. The fans keep it cool and it is also VERY quiet. If you are looking to game at 1080p-1440p you can't beat any GTX 1070 for prive/value.
