It does not have an on board battery or the ability to put a battery in to it however it is operated by a USB cord that might be able to be plugged into a external battery I have not tried it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The unit is powered by a USB cable from a 5VDC wall transformer. The same voltage type that is provided by any computer's or vehicle's USB ports. Theoretically, if you had a battery supply capable of outputting 5VDC it would work to power the camera, but it would only power it as long as the battery supply could produce that power. After the battery supply depletes, it would need to be replaced or recharged. At best I would expect a stand-alone battery supply to last a few days since the camera is virtually always on. Is a solar-battery charger or power supply an option at the camera's location? Of course this would be dependent on the amount of sunlight available to maintain the battery's charge.
