A:Answer Mine connects to my existing chime inside the house. When I come to the porch, the device beeps. When I push the button, the device emits a sound that I can hear coming from device which is on the porch, and it also activated the chime inside the house, making a ding...dong sound. Note that mine is not wireless. It replaces the old button on the wall that connects to the chime inside. If you are thinking about the wireless one, you may have to buy the wireless chime.
