run time is a solid half hour to 45 minutes. cool down time is about 10 minutes.

Please try again later.I run mine for quite some time and it does not over heat, compared to previous shredders that I've had and the one my daughter in law purchased at the same time I purchased this one, this one is amazing! I've gotten 3 - 4 bags of shredded documents done and still haven't noticed it getting hot. Maybe a little warm, but not hot. And what I really love is the documents never get jammed up in it.

Please try again later.I knew it had run time limitations when we purchased it, so I have made a conscious effort to “shred as I go”, and not accumulate a bunch of stuff all at once. So far, so good. If you know you want the ability to shred a bunch of stuff right out the gate, I would suggest looking into a model capable of running for longer periods without needing to cool down for 30 minutes, if available.
