From what I understand this will "Work" on Xbox Series S/X" however this is not the next gen game. You will be experiencing the same game that people on Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X are experiencing. If this is like Fifa 21, that means that online you can only play with people on this version of the game, regardless of if they are playing on a Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, or Xbox Series X. Undoubtedly this version will have the larger online population because Series S/X consoles are still hard to come by. However if you want to experience the true "Next Gen" version of this game, you need to buy the $69.99 version that is labeled just "Xbox Series X" Yes it is beyond complicated and further compounded by the fact that Microsoft has a limited Alphabet consisting of Xs and Ss
