“I have a 29 1/2 inch cutout and cooktops with 28 1/2 inch cutouts are not safe to install. Is this item something that will make the installation of these cooktops safe? Will the glass be able to withstand heavy pots?”

This trim kit is designed to help fill the space if the cutout is bigger than the requirements for the cooktop. You should also use wood filler strips to reduce the opening.
