Q: QuestionI am purchasing a GE Profile PP9030SJSS tp replace a Jenn Air cooktop. The Jenn Air depth is 22 inches and the GE is 20 7/8 inches and will leave roughly 1/2 inch of the countertop exposed on each side . Will the trim kit cover this area?

This JXTR32B filler kit will reduce any 30" cooktop cutout as large as 29-13/16" wide by 20-7/16" deep to what will be the "standard cutout" size needed for this cooktop. In order to confirm if this installation will fit, we would recommend that you refer to your current cooktop's cutout dimensions rather than the dimensions of the actual cooktop, as they are likely smaller. Once you have this information, if your current cutout is within the range of the dimensions above, this installation will work! Q: QuestionMy stovetop GE was installed will I have to remove it to add the filler trim kit if so what is another option.

• A:Answer Yes, to install this trim kit, the trim ring needs to be placed over the opening in your counter. You would then need to place the cooktop into the trim ring. Use this kit when the countertop cutout is larger than the cutout required by the cooktop’s Installation Instructions. Reduce the opening by adding wood filler strips. The cooktop trim ring will cover the opening and provide a more finished professional installation. You may want to consider consulting with a cabinet maker to see if there are any other options available for you to fill in the extra space if you choose not to remove the cooktop to have it installed. Q: QuestionWhat type and brand caulk do you recommend using when installing this filler trim kit. Should it be high temp? How thick of a bead should it be? Also is there a side up for this trim kit or it can be installed in either position. Thank you for your time

Q: QuestionI have a 29 1/2 inch cutout and cooktops with 28 1/2 inch cutouts are not safe to install. Is this item something that will make the installation of these cooktops safe? Will the glass be able to withstand heavy pots?
