“Can the filter be turn off if I am using the faucet for other than drinking water? Will it still use the filter? Shorten the 6 month life span on the filter?”

• It always filters the cold water. You could install a bypass.

• I think you would have to remove the filter and reattach the hose. Not very convenient if done often.

• There is no by pass, the filter hooks to cold only to you could use the hot side as it doesn't filter that. The six month range for the filter is an average. I think it says it is good for about 2500 gallons
