Hello - we are not familiar with an "Energy Saver" certification. This is not certified as a low-energy use appliance, but it should definitely not draw the equivalent energy of an entire household, which is what would be required to double an energy bill solely with this fireplace. Electric bills often change seasonally as you use more hours of lighting, heating/cooling, water heating, etc., and these things are likely to have a greater influence on your total energy use.
