“Is it possible to attach a DVR to an Xfinity and record movies separately? I am extremely dissatisfied with Xfinity and their policy of charging more for less. I would need a DVR that allows movies to be recorded to a disk or similar device.”

• Connect your HDMI cable from the 'source' to a HDMI-to-RCA converter. Connect the RCA cables to the DVR,... you should be able to record your shows. Pick up an old-school HDD DVR on Ebay (Panasonic, Philips/Magnavox, etc.)

• Yes you can. But not the Amazon recast. It wouldn't work. Only broadcast channels.
