“I have a fire stick that I am streaming with so I assume that I wouldn't need the antenna. Right? I would like to know if I can pause live tv to go to the kitchen and then come back and start viewing again? thx”

You will need an antenna to receive the local stations, and only the local stations are recorded. I doesn't record you streamed selections. You can record any of the local stations in one room and play them back in another room. If you are watching live (over the air) tv, if you press pause/resume it will stop the play until you hit pause/resume again (within a reasonable period). The same goes for those over the air programs you've recorded. Hope that helps.
