Does it need to hardwied do I just need it's wifi null

Hard wire antenna, is a must, it won’t even let you set it up if you don’t follow the steps.

Wifi and hard wire, it communicates with your other Fire TV firestick throughout the house.

Can do either. Requires a mobile device to set up. Fire TV app will do all the work.
