“I understand an ISP is required for the setup & programming. But is continuous internet required while it records? I only have "internet" via my cell phone's WiFi hotspot. I only want to use this device as a modern VCR and play back to TV.”

• I believe WiFi is required. It communicates wirelessly with the tv through our FireStick.

• Hello, BDV! You would need to be connected to the internet to set up and use the device. Since you need to have the a Fire TV Stick or Cube, you would need that connected to the internet to access the menu to view your recorded programming. I hope this helps. Have a great day!
