“What external storage devices are compatible with the Recast? The original ones listed by Amazon after its launch are no longer available, so I'm not sure what to buy that would be compatible. I bought the 4-tuner from Best Buy, but need more storage.”

I purchased a Fire Recast and it worked well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Syl! You should be able to connect any external storage device as long as it has a USB to plug into the back of the recast. We recommend placing the external drive at least 3 inches away from your Fire TV Recast, on the right side of the device, facing forward. This is because external hard-drives create electromagnetic interference that can affect the Wi-Fi signals of Fire TV Recast. Your recordings will be recorded on either the internal hard drive of the Fire TV Recast or the external drive. You cannot choose where your recordings are stored. To see the total storage available: On your TV: On any Fire TV streaming media player or Fire TV Edition television, go to Settings > Live TV > Live TV Sources > Fire TV Recast > DVR Storage. On the Fire TV mobile app, navigate to Settings > Fire TV Recast > About > Internal Storage. Hope this helps. Have a great day!
