You do need an Amazon device but can use your roku also separately. I have both. And it does have an excellent guide and you don't have to pay a subscription like other dvr devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you will need a fire stick or cube and it will not work with roku. There is a channel guide I don't have direct tv so I am not sure about the similarity. You have to enter a couple different things to record but it is very easy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Gronz, Yes, you will need a Fire TV streaming media player of some sort, as well as an OTA antenna. Then whatever channels your antenna picks up, they will be all available in the Fire TV platform, as well as a guide as to what is on those channels also. Unfortunately, it only works within the Fire TV platform, the Roku will not work with this. I hope this info helps.
