No. It's battery-powered, so there's no need for electrical connections. There are easy-to-follow installation instructions included with the unit. Basically, you just drill two holes for the expansion drywall anchors (included with the unit), tap them into place with a hammer, then insert the included screws into the anchors and twist them to hold the base securely against the wall or ceiling. Insert batteries into the detector, twist it onto the base, and you're done. If you want to add the device to a Ring system, there are instructions for that, too.
