“Does anyone know if the brightness of the halo light on this model can be changed/dimmed through the Onelink App? (this could be done with previous models, that just happened to be HomeKit compatible, versus this newer version)”

Hi dhwaldron, the SC5 is not compatible with the Onelink app. To use the SC5 Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm you must first set up the device in the First Alert app, however the halo light levels are not user-adjustable. - Maria
