You have to sync it to something to get it started, it can be a phone or computer. After the initial setup you don't have to have a phone. You will see your activity on the alta screen and the next day it clears and starts over. You can view different things on the phone but may be able to view them on the computer too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will keep working, it just won't save any previous information. It resets every day at 12:00am. If you ever upgrade you can try to sync to your phone, but it's not necessary to do so. You can use as a stand alone product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can track to a PC, tablet or phone. Using it as a stand alone you wouldn't see any progress or be able to track calories/food, set goals, or see trends in your health. I'm not sure about memory storage, but I know my app stores that, so the wristband automatically resets every day at 12:00 am.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Fitbit Alta is not a stand alone item except for tracking exercise goals daily only. However, it can be used with a computer instead of a phone to update and change settings, etc., by signing into a FitBit account online. As far as I can tell, the Fitbit itself has no memory past the current day so It never gets full. Everything it records is saved to your FitBit account. Syncing to your phone is just a convenience option not a necessity. For instance, it will record sleep but that's not accessible from the Fitbit itself, only the online account or AP where the information is sent to.
