• not proof---"resistant" would be a more appropriate description

• No it's not unfortunately. It can handle some water but not full submersion.

• The Fitbit Alta is not waterproof; it is water resistant. I would not recommend that you wear it in the pool or even in the shower. From what I've read, people have commented that after taking a shower with it on it has stopped working. I jumped in the shower the other day and forgot to take it off, but noticed as soon as I started to wash my hair. I quickly got out unsnapped it and dried it off. I kept my fingers crossed that it would be OK, and it was.

• No, the Fitbit Alta device is not waterproof. It can stand sweat, and raindrops though.

• I am outside and sweating a lot! I would say it is pretty waterproof. I wouldn't totally submerge it for long but I have had it wet when watering plants or cooling off from the water hose and dried it up and it keeps working fine.
