• Getting it wet is not recommended. However, there are fitbits that are waterproof. They are bigger and more expensive. Do a comparison and make your choice based on what is most important to you.

• You can get the FitBit Alta HR wet it is not recommended to use it while swimming. If you get the unit wet make sure you take it off and dry the back side of the unit and wipe down the straps.
