    Decent Activity Tracker

It's been only a few days since I had this; however it does pretty good job of tracking your activity. There are indeed some miscalculations; however it is acceptable as far as I am concern. I had hugely debated between this and Charge 2, since I didn't find Charge 2 too big for my wrist. But far less obtrusive design of Heart sensor (IMO) on this Alta HR fixed the deal. Charge 2's heart sensor was pretty uncomfortable for me. I do sweat a lot thus I tend to rinse it right after the workout and thoroughly dry it. So far it seems okay, and hopefully it's water resistance would keep it that way. Oh BTW, it's pretty difficult to read the measurement on a bright sunny day. So if you frequently check while you workout outside, you might want to choose different one. Also if you are an avid tracker with quite fine measurement requirement, I don't think this device would satisfy your needs; however if you are okay with a few miscalculations/errors here and there then this should work well for you as it did for me.

    Great small tracker

Look to other reviews for the basics. History: I previously owned the Charge HR and was pleased with the performance until it stopped working. I wanted something a bit less bulky because I wear watches on my other wrist so I checked this one out. It works great. I am missing the specific workout tracking feature a bit from the Charge HR. It was really nice to estimate my calorie burn specifically tied to my workout. The updated charge cable is nice. The previous cable always seemed to have a hard time keeping a solid connection. The reason it loses a star is because the tap feature doesnt work as smoothly as I would like it to. It seems like it needs to be in a certain position for it to take the command properly which is kind of a bummer. Overall, I would recommend this unit to users who want something sort-of low profile and want the HR tracking capability because the Fitbit interface and tracking environment is solid. I’m sure the next iteration of the ALTA will have workout tracking and I will buy that one too...

    Love the Fitbit Alta HR

I thought about saving a few bucks and going with the Alta - I just want to keep track of my activity...I am so glad I upgraded to this unit. I pay more attention to the HR than I thought I would. The unit itself is great so far! It charges fast and will hold a charge for almost a full week. It has reminders (quick vibrate buzz then a message on the screen) if I have not moved in a while - mostly at work - so I get up and stretch and walk a bit. It is not big and chunky so I don't feel like it is in my way. Love the size and function of this. Took me a while to get used to the watch band type band on it because I had the Flex with the little pin thingys. I had not worn a watch in yeah, I had to adjust to the band. Now I don't even notice it and taking it off and putting it on is second nature. Would I buy this one again? Yes I would! Would I recommend it to others? Yes I would!

    I love my Fitbit!

I've went through 3 different fitness trackers before I decided to give Fitbit a try. I love it! I have the blue-gray one and the color blends in nicely with all of my outfits. I have the Fitbit set up to remind me to get up and move. Since I have a desk job, I will literally sit at the desk all day typing away. My Fitbit buzzes at 50 minutes after every hour reminding me to get up and move. It can be very hard to get steps in when you have a desk job, so Fitbit is slowly helping me be a little more active. I also love that I can add friends and we can challenge each other. That was a little more difficult to do with my previous trackers because either they didn't have that function available or I was the only one in my circle of friends with a particular tracker. I'm still a little iffy on how well the sleep tracker works, but I don't use it often, so it's not a deal breaker.

A couple of years ago, i purchased a fitbit flex in hopes of becoming more active. I ised it for about a month, and it ended up in a drawer for nearly two years. I recently pulled it out and thought I would give it a go again. Within the soace of a week, I found that fitbit had since released several new models, and I chose the Aria HR as my new tracker. I have been using it for about 5 weeks, and have found it to be so motivating and helpful! Rather than just tracking my basic steps, it alsobtracks my heartrate and auto tracks my activities such as elliptical and aerobic workouts. All of this additional information has been so engrossing, I'm finding myself to be highly competitive and driven. I have already lost 14 pounds and decreased my resting heart rate by a large amount. This is an invaluable tool for anyone looking to stay dedicated to a new lifestyle.

    Worth the $$

    • Verified PurchaserVerified Purchase

I was a little skeptical about fitbits when they first came out but due to a recent medical issue i decided to invest in one just to monitor my heart rate. Its easy to use, and the battery really does last for like a week. I think I charge it for like an hour a week, if that. It also holds up very well to the elements, I work construction so I’m constantly getting it dirty and whatnot. I like the whole sleep analyzing part of it too. The only issue I have with it is the inaccuracy of the step counter. Its always a minimum 50% higher than the step counter on my iphone. That could also be because it is sensitive to my daily use of power tools for work. Other than that though, I’m glad I bought it and I would recommend it.

    Efficient and Minimalist

Very lightweight, easy to use. My biggest surprise and delight is that the app has a tracker for sleep, weight, food calories, and water. Also, the challenges are alot of fun. I'm a data geek so this has been very effective for me, I lost 3 pounds so far. The food tracker I rely on heavily. Works just like an Apple Watch without all the apps. Works great on my iphone via bluetooth, just need the bluetooth on to sync the data so you can go without it on all day, the watch will transfer the info during the sync. Battery lasts for a week if you don't keep bluetooth on all day. Haven't had any issues yet, but I'm not a heavy user of it, so if you just want it for basic everyday use it's a good buy. Iprobably could have gone with a cheaper one without all the frills because I refer to the app more than the watch.

Nice device to remind you to move

My wife wanted one of these devices for Christmas so after reading a bit about it I bought myself one. I like the design, very lightweight. Supported by a very useful and informative application for both Apple and Android smartphones. Although like some other devices, the step counter may respond to arm movements rather than actual steps, but combined with other features I still love this device. It actually motivates me to be more active and at 62 years of life that’s real important to me! I actually look forward to check the info each day on the app on my phone that syncs with the device via Bluetooth. Pretty cool device, support application and website.
