• Not at all. It's not waterproof. Polar has a similar model that is completely waterproof for swimming.

• According to the Best Buy advertisement the watch is "Sweat-, rain- and water-resistant construction". It is definitely NOT water proof. As a lifeguard this watch would not be a good choice.

• No... water resistant, not waterproof. I did a ton of research and it looks like the best option for those who will be swimming with a smart watch is the Garmin Vivoactive.

• The manufacturer says that this watch is "water resistant" but cautions against submerging it in water or swimming while wearing it.

• I left my fitbit HR on my wrist by accident when I stepped into my shower. I realized it within a minute and took it off and toweled it off. Left it alone to dry but by morning it was toast. They both say the same thing about water so I would say no.
