Any of the models that remind you to move each hour and show calories would be what you should look for. The Alta can do that.

It’s a marketing ploy that has surprisingly worked and yet the watch alone is not going to help you burn calories or force you to go for a run. That said, they can be a very useful to to help motivate you throughout the day to be more active than maybe you were without it. There are many different for its out there with some cool features but my mom got the Fitbit charge 2 and we are both disappointed in the lack of customization and overall interface of the watch. I highly recommend getting a square shaped watchface that has solid integration with your cellphone so it’s something you will use daily. Good luck!!!
