You can swim in the Flex, but I would only recommend swimming in a pool and not a lake. My son lost 2 Fitbit Flex swimming and playing in a lake. Also, Fitbit recommends making sure that you take it off and let it dry later. You cannot swim with the Charge or the Surge.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Its not water proof so you can't swim with it, but a little bit of water in the shower or washing your hands doesn't mess it up. You can input swimming in the app or computer and it determines calories burned based on weight.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know someone who put it in the wash and it still worked So I guess you could swim with it..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It may be "water resistant" but that doesn't mean waterproof. I wouldn't swim with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Correct it is water resistant for showing it is fine but it should not be totally submerged. the wrist strap shell is not completely water tight but protects it well enough when in the shower or washing hands- I usually take it off for the shower just in case since the longer you have it the wrist band can stretch a bit and a little more moisture gets in. Mines over a year old- only recently seems stretched out a bit.
