Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My mother in law wears hers on her ankle as she rides in several hundred mile rides and from what she can tell, it tracks about every other "step". Pretty much when the ankle you have it on is on the lower end of the pedal loop, it will count that, but not when the other foot does. NOW, for the GPS. Yes, it will give you a basic steps based on what distance you go if you have it in GPS mode, but that WON'T be counted towards challenges or anything like that. Those will only be counted by physical steps the device registers.
