• Yes it does. If you want something that doesn't go on your wrist, you may want to consider one of Fitbit's other tracking products. Try one of the ones I recommended.

• It does need to be on your wrist as it tracks the swing of your arm. Fitbit makes a model that can be carried in your pocket though if you prefer that method.

• The Fit bit flex doesn't have to be on your wrist to work, it even works carrying it in your pocket.

• It is meant to be worn on your wrist for accurate tracking. I don't think it will give you accurate steps if it's in your packet.
