The Fitbit Surge does not advertise to being waterproof. Although it will survive being splashed, it's not made for rigorous water activity, I recommend going with a waterproof watch if you intend to wear it with water activities.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is NOT waterproof! That's how my first one was ruined, I was splashed by a wave on the beach. The watch was never submerged, it did not even get really wet. I dried it, put it in a bag with uncooked rice etc but nothing worked. The display went completely blank, and I couldn't get anything to work. It was still tracking my steps etc, but the display wouldn't work at all. There is no warranty against water damage, so fitbit would not replace it. It's a great watch, but DON'T let it get wet!!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a great watch for outdoor activities that do not include any more than rain or sweat.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the Fitbit Surge and love it for tracking my daily exercise and monitoring my heartrate. It says it is water resistant against rain, sweat and splashing. It is NOT waterproof. I do not think it is the right type of watch for a sport that might get it really wet.
