• We've done it with our Android phone hotspot. I would think that any wi-fi device could connect to a hotspot. (no different then connecting at Starbucks, Panera, etc)

• An iPhone hotspot is basically the same as Wifi. So yes it should work.

• Yes , it can connect to a smart phone as a hot spot. I do it all the time.

• Any internet connection will be sufficient for the Chromebook to fully operate. So your iPhone's hotspot would work provided it has a cellular internet connection (3G/4G/LTE or other).

• Sure. WiFi on a hotspot is the same as home or office WiFi.
