i just bought a new 15.5 windows laptop with the works. got it home and was disappointed. It was really heavy and bulky!Took it back and saw this little beauty. i do just about everything on the net so it was an easy switch for me. It's almost instant on and off. Battery lasts a really long time and it has a great touch screen that you get used to and miss when you'r on a normal laptop. The fact that it flips over and turns into a tablet is a real bonus! Love it! I liked it so much I bought my sister one too.

I bough this laptop for my nephew to use for school projects and he loves it. He loves it specially because it turns in to a tablet and it's a rich screen. I would definitely consider buying another one for my niece .

Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. The Asus Flip is light in weight, easy to use and great for getting things done. I am running the beta channel version of the OS, and enjoying the routine updates. The only downside with this device is, when in flip-tablet mode is experience can be jagged, but build quality is solid.

Purchased this for my 8 year old to help him have somewhere to study without all the gaming options available on a regular laptop. So far he loves it. Small, very easy to set up and use, love that it is a touch screen and that it flips up! Now my 6 year old wants one!

I can definitely recommend this Chromebook, but only if you know what to expect from one.
Pros: boots in ~5 seconds, great touch screen, micro SD slot to expand storage, built in Bluetooth, very thin and light, screen flips to turn into a tablet.
Cons: 16GB doesn't quite seem like enough RAM if you're the kind of person who likes having 10+ tabs open, but that may be because 2 of mine were 60 page presentations...

This Chromebook is absolutely unbelievable! I thought my former Samung Chromebook II was the best tech purchase I had ever made, but the Asus Flip 2 in 1 beats out the Samsung easily. First of all, you have to understand what a Chromebook is designed to do before you run out and buy one. I use this every day to web browse, virtually nothing else. I am using it as we speak. Chromebooks boot up incredibly fast, are very light, virus free, and they are inexpensive. My Asus has a beautiful screen. The Samsung had a sort of matted-look to it. The Asus is also a tablet beside a sit down laptop, not a true Android tablet, but a Chromebook tablet nonetheless. You can flip it around like a cell phone and the screen follows. There is way to many things for me to laud and too little space on this page. Chromebooks are for real and this one is superb!

As a Chromebook very good! Fast enough for light browsing. Great ISP screen for the price. Keyboard is a little cramped but you get used to it. For light web browsing and Google Drive/Apps it is great. As a tablet it is limited to running Chrome so it is no iPad but it is good for browsing and watching web video when in tablet or tent mode.
With the right expectations, this is great Chromebook. Wish it was a little faster. No complaints and great battery life.
This is Chromebook, and only runs Chrome OS for now. Hoping that as Android and Chrome OS start to merge this device will get updates and new software features... but it is good as it is too. I'd give it 5 stars if when Android and Chrome OS merge more, I can get access to Android apps.
If you buy this an are upset that it doesn't have Windows on it, and that you cannot install Office, you need to do more research. There are more choices out there now, and more diversity of platforms, and this product does not deserve a 1 start review (which I've seen a few) because it does not run "software you need."

My 13 year old son bought this chromebook. His middle school uses Google Drive and he wanted his own device. This one was especially appealing to him since it is touch also. He can log in to his school account and he also set up a personal account, which allows him access to all of Googles features. It is very fast and because he is familiar with this platform it took him no time at all to become familiar with this device. It seems well made and is very compact.

I purchased this chromebook not only as a laptop but I really like the idea it can convert into a tablet. This chromebook is very fast and the battery life is outstanding. It is very light, well constructed and easy to carry around if you are on the go or on vacation. This is just a great chromebook to purchase. It is very easy to operate and also the fact it is a touch screen.

After thinking about getting a chromebook for a while, I decided on this model because I wanted something smaller and light to take with me to work everyday. I was tired of lugging around my older laptop, which was heavy and the battery didn't last more than 1.5 hrs. This chromebook's battery lasts me a few days of heavy use. I'm on it constantly at work, browsing the internet, streaming videos, working on google docs or sheets. Not only does the battery last forever, but it is so light and portable and good build quality too. I like that it has the option to flip into a tablet, but I've only used it in tablet or tent mode a couple times. I like that the option is there if I need it. Another thing I love compared to my windows laptop is the quick it boots up and shuts down, within seconds! And quite too, unlike my windows laptop which was so noisy with the fan going off all the time. So glad I finally tried out a chromebook. I does everything I need 99% of the time. When I need to do pc work like graphic design I break out my windows laptop, but that is now rarely the case anymore. One thing that does happen a few times a day is it will stall for about 10 sec on a web page. I figure it's because the model I purchased only has 2GB of ram. I usually don't have more than 6 tabs open at a time, so get a 4GB version if you can. All in all I love my chromebook flip and would suggest to anyone that does most of their work online and in the cloud.

I purchased this laptop for it's battery life and flexibility to be my go to machine. I have found an app in the webstore for every need I've come across. The touchscreen is fantastic and quite useful. Right clicking is a horrible pain so consider the touchscreen a left click only interface. Battery life is right on par with listed values. My daily usage is an open ssh connection to test servers(tmux screens streaming critical log files), mindmup for notes, kindle, inbox app. 50% of the time I use this device tethered to a portable wifi device and it performs flawlessly. The memory is not a SSD so please don't get expectations up. It works for the casual user and if you need a beast get a Pixel. If this broke I would replace immediately.

Great Little Unit If You Know What It's Good For

I'm assuming by now you know what a Chromebook should be used for. Browsing, watching content, getting emails. It's not your device if you want to edit movies. With that said it really just comes down to the individual unit with so many Chromebook choices. This one takes the cake because of it's look and feel. It is a smooth metal case and includes a nice little touchscreen that is nice as an extra although not hugely important on the Chrome OS. With that said it is nice to include this for a bonus. I picked one up for about $200 and at that price this is a very nice machine so I gave it 4 stars. The only reason I didn't provide 5 stars is it only has 2 GB of ram and if you have many windows open it can get a little sluggish but nothing too bad. I know taking a star away when they have a 4 GB version of this is not fair but not every device can get 5 stars all the time. If you can pick this up for $200 to $240 I would say get it right away and you won't be disappointed. The device looks better than a Macbook Air when closed and at this price you can buy 3-4 of them and put them all over the house. I love the fact that Asus isn't charging a huge premium for the metal case and something like this is at a price you really don't need to regret buying.

Light weight, easy to use, fast, clear picture, and the touch screen is the best, I especially enjoy it when I am cooking, I can turn it into tablet mode, it stands up perfectly & I can view my recipes, while cooking. P.s. my 9 year old granddaughter loves it.

Love this chromebook. I didn't need a heavy duty notebook. Just enough to browse the internet, video chat, email etc. It does the job at a great price. Works really well. Love the touchscreen feature. You can fold it to use it like a tablet or open it up and use it's keyboard. For video view is ok nothing spectacular about it but is not what this is for. It still has a pretty good quality though. Has little speakers sound pretty good as well for it's size. I could video chat on it without needing to use headphones. I do use the headphone for music. Has Bluetooth, USB port, mini HDMI. No DVD drive. It's pretty much like a tablet with a keyboard on it. Works for me. Has really good battery life! I can get 6-8 hours of use.
It very light weight and small in size so it's very portable.

We really loved this product. Great price. Good readability on the screen. Light weight and easily transportable. 2-in-1 with touch screen. But once we got it home it couldn't run a certain program needed for work so we had to return it to get somethings else. Too bad, because it was so nice. So, we would recommend it as long as you know it can run all the programs and things you need it for.

I have a laptop and a tablet but needed something in between that was light and I could tote around between work, school, and home. This has been perfect for me! I can fit it into almost any bag or purse it doesn't take up much room. It never overheats and I use it for up to 10 hours a day. The battery lasts usually about 5 hours, 7 if I'm not streaming video. Sometimes it'll stall for a moment if it's trying to reconnect to the internet but the wifi is great a home, work, and school -- I only notice at places that are busy with slower wifi (like a coffee shop).

So I have never owned a chromebook and I wanted to know the pros and cons of them. I played around with this asus in the store ad fell in love. The 10 inch screen is perfect for travel. The battery life is ecellent. Touch screen is very resonsive. The metal body also gives it a premium feel. The chrome OS is quick and responsive and great for interet use. I havent used google docs or any other offline programs much, but for what I use it for its great. 1star because at the price it's ar I feel it should have 32 or 64 gb of internal storage.
