Hello, This mat is made from vinyl which is a naturally softer plastic when compared to materials such as polycarbonate. The mat would be shipped rolled, however should lie flat with in 72 hours. Place the mat in a warm room & place heavy objects (such as books) on any raised parts of the mat in order to allow the mat to lie flat. Thank you, The Floortex Team.
