I have listed below some steps to make custom bags and vacuum-seal your foods: 1 - Seal the open side of the roll. 2 - decide the length of the bag and cut with scissors. 3 - put your items/food inside (leaving at least 3 inches of empty space on the open side of the bag). 4 - Accommodate your bag into the drip tray, close the lid and press the vac-seal button. We hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You must cut both ends on the bag by hand. I find a rotary fabric cutting disk on a cutting board gives a very precise, smooth cut. Seal one side. Fill the bag, then vacuum seal the other end.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You cut the bag to the length needed, leaving a couple inches extra at the top. First, put one end of the bag material in the Food Saver, with the edge into the drip tray. Close, and use the "Seal" button to fuse the end shut, Then remove the bag, load your contents, make sure there isn't much (if any) smears near the open end. Then tuck the unsealed edge of the bag into the drip tray, close and use the "Vacuum and Seal" button to do the finishing touch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a food saver cutter separate from the Food Saver vacuumed sealer. It is handy when I use the roll rather than the bags. But a scissor works as well. If I use a bag, of course their is nothing to cut. unless you want to cut off the excess above the seal. Once you turn the knob back to the open position the bag is no longer clamped. I like this unit because it's size is minimal. some of the fancier food savers take up a lot of space on the kitchen counter or cupboards.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You first seal the end of the continuously open roll, then you cut the roll to size (go long if in doubt, cut as straight as possible), then insert food, finally you line up the new open edge for vacuuming and seal.
