“What is this air filter made of? What is the mechanism ?”

• I really have no idea what it is made of. It's got a plastic surround and does install with an easy twist. There is a small fan behind it that does circulate air inside the fridge. As mentioned in my review, I have no idea whether this is a gimmick or a necessity. I lean towards the former.

• I believe it is just carbon, but did not investigate further, next time I change I'll cut it open and see!
