“Can I turn it off and on to use only when we have house guests? Will it harm the freezer to use it a week at a time and then turn if off for a month? We do not freeze much food but when we have house guests (and we live on a lake so we have lots), I like to prepare a few things in advance. And, of course, we need more ice.”
