“In energy saver mode does the entire unit shut down when set point is reached?”

• Hello Frigidaire Shopper! When the air conditioner is in energy saver mode it will shut the compressor down, once it has reached the set temperature. The fan will come on to test the air in the room to assure the compressor does not need to turn on. We hope this information is helpful. • All four answers are "technically right" but ALL WRONG! Yes, the unit shuts down, but it turns on EVERY 10 MINUTES, for about 20 seconds, to test if it needs to kick on again. It drives me crazy at night, when the outside temp. is getting cooler and, for all intents and purposes, it should stay OFF! I have an old Panasonic AC and it does just that! Comes on when needed, otherwise it's as good as being turned off. I've had days when this AC did not kick on for 3 days straight because the temp in the house was below the set temp on the AC. Can you imagine if it came on every 10 minutes? For what it is worth, I'd love to buy a new, perhaps smaller and more efficient one that has this feature!
