- Answer Three inches would be more than adequate for the hinge. But you have to account for the handle for the door to be able to fully open.

QuestionMine was just delivered and it is very loud and running constantly. What's wrong. Also, the lower back did not come with a cover, so the compoents are exposed. Is it supposed to have a cover?

- Answer I can only say that mine is so quiet that I had a hard time at first being able to tell if it was running. The only noises we have heard are from the i e dumping into the ice bin.
