“We just got this delivered today and noticed the door catches about half way closed. Then you can push it harder and it will close. Is this a defect or is it supposed to be this way for some reason?”

The door on ours does not close by itself but it really doesn't take much effort to close it. I prefer it that way so it is not repeatedly closing on its own and forcing me to wait on the vacuum seal when I am trying to load it up.

This is not a manufacturing defect; it is commonly due to door alignment not being properly done or installed. It can commonly be solved by just adjusting the door height properly and leveling the unit properly. Ensure Appliance is level, side-to-side, and tilted ¼" (6 mm) front-to-back. Cabinet is setting solid on all corners. Anti-tip bracket set in front (both sides).
