You don't need a water hose. The only thing you need to be aware of is that you CANNOT switch the door to open on the opposite side. When we tried to reverse the door, we found an electrical wire that runs from the bottom of the refrigerator to the bottom of the door which you cannot switch up, Other than that I would give this refrigerator 10 **** if I could. I love this refrigerator!!!! It's quiet, made well with glass shelves, and a great price ($949.99) If I didn't already have a freezer, I would have purchased the freezer to match this refrigerator.
